A mother admitted child cruelty after her child, a three-year-old, had developed a "smoking habit". Social services were informed by a worried friend who had sent in a film clip of the toddler smoking a cigarette in front of Kelly Marie Pocock, 24, his mother. The court was told that the boy, who remains anonymous, "looked like he had been smoking for years". Pocock was handed a 40-week jail sentence, suspended for two years.
